Why do you need an up-to-date appraisal?

Whether you're driving a Ferrari or a 1932 Ford, in the 24 years I worked for ICBC some of the most difficult claims I've had to deal with were claims where a vehicle was either stolen or burned to the ground and the owner of the vehicle had limited information and few or no photos to prove their loss. 

Had the owner provided ICBC with an appraisal with proper photos the process would have been a lot easier.

One of the first things your insurance company will look at regarding your vehicle is the value, the value will determine the maximum repair limits they can pay the shop to repair your vehicle before it becomes a total loss.

If you don't have a proper appraisal, they may undervalue your vehicle and total loss it based on incorrect value and now the fight is on!
